Our New Forum
After much deliberation we are moving to a new forum
The current forum is free paid for by ads. These ads are culled and push through the net based on our discussions by Google Ads. As you know OKFC remains a no-dues club and is not sponsored by anyone.
The fact is these ads slow down the forum & sometimes the forum bogs down to a crawl. The new forum is fast and also permits us some great new features as well as a sleek and clean interface.
We have created the new adless forum on on a site that we host:
www.orlandokayakfishingclub.com/forum
Please use your current forum name and sign up, it just takes a few minutes.
We have uploaded all member's avatars. If you have any issues just send us a quick note.
You can read the faq on uploading pictures here
On December 31st we will be doing a site maintenance to upgrade our current site. We are switching over to a Linux platform which will give us some enhancements that we will be adding in the future. We are also redesigning the website to be faster on the download and will have some new features added in the months to come in preparation of our tournament.
At the top of the website there is a OKFC Forum link (the grey square) that takes you to the forum. If you click (OKFC on the left side)on the forum it will take you back to the website
On January 1st we will locking all the topics on this forum. Unfortunately, to protect themselves Forumco will not allow us to backup and migrate the old forum so there will be a link back to it in a sticky on our new forum for reference. Eric is attempting some of his computer magic to try to migrate all past threads to the new forum.

December Meeting notes
It was a good
turnout for Tuesday's meeting, with about 30 members, including
5 new members, in attendance. Steve Chapman from Boodreaux's Boondocques
was our guest speaker.
The meeting started with a lure
demonstration in the big fish tank, put on by Ben from Bass Pro
Shops. The nice thing about using the big tank is that we can set the
presentation and the lures’ action from the fish’s point of view.
After the demo, we returned to the meeting room and heard from Steve Chapman. Steve is one of the host’s of the “Boodreaux's Boondocques” radio show(WHOO 1080am and WIXC 1060am). If you haven’t checked out the show, tune in on Saturdays 5-8am. It’s a great show with good fishing information, live guide reports, and lots of giveaways.
Steve spoke about his fishing experience, gave some good tips, and gave some spot suggestions for club outings. We hope he makes some return visits to upcoming meetings.
Steve Denunzio spoke about the Club shirt orders, and we talked about the upcoming Christmas party to be held on the 16th of this month. More information about both can be found on the club web site. A signup thread for what dish you’ll be bringing to party will be up on the forum shortly.
Next, we discussed the location for the next club outing. The suggested locations were Tomoka State Park, George’s Bar, Tiger Shoal’s, and a location we’ll call Steve C’s spot.
(those that attended the meeting will know where that’s at, we’ll get it out to the participating members as soon as possible. I’ll post a voting thread tonight.
Lastly, we had everybody introduce themselves and talk a little about their fishing experience.
The meeting adjourned promptly at 9pm..
