First-of-its-kind hybrid designed for paddling and fishing
YOLO Board LLC, a Florida-based stand-up (SUP) paddleboard manufacturer, recently announced the debut of the YOLO Yak, a unique hybrid stand-up paddleboard/kayak. Combining the design elements of a paddle board with the durability and rotomolded polyethylene construction of a sit-on-top kayak, the YOLO Yak features a front bungee tie-down system, molded-in keel system, foam traction pad and side and rear handles for ease of transport. The 11’10’’ long, 33” wide YOLO Yak has a recessed deck to facilitate better stability for a variety of water pursuits such as fishing, crabbing, beginner surfing or just flat water paddling. Optional upgrades include flush rod holders and a complete SUP fishing system, which includes a fishing box, rod holders with tie downs and a tackle gear bag.
“People of all ages and interests are embracing the Yak because of its stability and virtually little to no learning curve,” said Tom Losee, co-founder of YOLO Board LLC.
“The YOLO Yak appeals to a broader market because of its versatility, especially for fishing,” added Jeff Archer, co-founder of YOLO Board LLC. “The Yak is perfect for all water excursions, from a casual one-hour paddle to an all day fishing adventure.”
In celebration of the new board, the paddleboard company is currently planning an inaugural fishing tournament showcasing the YOLO Yak as the vessel of choice that is slated to take place this spring. For the latest event updates, visit http://www.yoloboard.com/.
