In a press release from the Future Fisherman Foundation they mentioned that their Physh Ed National Fishing and Boating initiative has engaged over 14,000 students in fishing and boating activities since the start of the school year in September 2008.
I don't want to knock anything that gets kids outside, but fishing as physical education seems a stretch (or let's say that you don't need to stretch for it).
They mentioned that teachers from across the country are getting their students outside and engaging in a little friendly competition. Students rallied their families to wake up early on a Saturday to get outside and to catch some fresh air and fish! How about we get these 14,000 kids fishing from kayaks! What do you think, a better idea?
